In the state of New Jersey, background checks are now being done on volunteer workers. Background checks should always be taken seriously. The work may be free or paid but the issue of security is always present.

This means, background checks should be done on everyone regardless of the nature of the job. A bill from the same state is now pending in legislature. Assembly bill No. 2624 requires every boater in the New Jersey area (whether they are living within the state or not) to take further education and to undergo background checks prior to hiring.

Most compulsory educational laws do not include boaters and this new bill is starting to create a buzz in the state of New Jersey.
