Statewide Criminal Check Resources |
Statewide criminal check resources are provided by the States; however, not all the state provides access to these records. While some of the States give online access to these records, others have a protocol that need to be followed, such as filling up an application and submitting it. There are also fees that are charged and this too varies from state to state. Access to these records may require a special authorization form that needs to be filled as well as some information for identification, such as the full name of the person concerned, their address, date of birth, country of residence as well as their social security number. Sometimes the information that is provided by the statewide criminal check record system may not be complete due to several problems such as the limited date ranges or the records being maintained by less number of courts. Even the inmate and offender searches are usually only restricted to people who have been sentenced to the state prison. Sex offender registries are provided for free by many states, as they see the need for the public to be able to access these records to safeguard themselves. A statewide criminal check includes arrests as well as convictions. Even child abuse registries are available and they reveal the names of people involved in these crimes; however, there is again the issue of these records not being available for all states. The child protective services agencies belonging to the particular state need to be contacted for access to this information. [ See Press Room ] date posted: 2008-07-02 22:50:46 |
